Get Ready to #OccupyChristmas!
*Updated with new links December 4, 2011!*
The holidays are supposed to be a time of peace, love, and togetherness, but for all too many families, they have become a time of over-consumption, debt, and stress. What better way to hit Wall Street where it hurts than to take back the holidays and #occupy Christmas?
At this point, it appears that there are several different #OccupyChristmas proposals, with no cle
ar leader. Check them out and sign on for whichever you like best:

Some of the suggested steps you can take include:
- Make your own Christmas presents, cards, and decorations.
- Recycle or “re-gift” presents instead of buying new ones.
- Buy from local craftspeople and locally owned retailers whenever possible.
- Celebrate Buy Nothing Day.
- Don’t buy on credit.
- Give charity donations instead of gifts.
- Spend time with your family, not money.
